Calypso used to have a mentor at the age of seven, she was the most amazing teacher that she has ever seen in her whole life. However, she sadly passed away while trying to protect her in Khaenri’ah.

Backstory: When she was just a very young girl, Calypso lived alone in Mondstadt with no allies at all. She also had no Mora to buy food, clothing and shelter- but she gained her survival needs by fishing, crafting her own clothes and building a small tent near springvale. One day while eating her lunch in her tent, she saw an adventurers’ guild member coming towards springvale. She never saw one before, so she put her unfinished lunch in her homemade backpack and put it on. Soon, she followed the member all across springvale- observing him with full detail. While spying on the member, she overheard two other Springvale citizens talking about a mysterious sword. Soon, she left the member behind and started to run towards the two citizens. The two citizens were talking about a mysterious hidden sword somewhere in Teyvat. Additionally, only some people were able to locate the sword- but what’s strange is that no founders has ever obtained the sword. Then, she became very fascinated about the sword and returns to the tent to pack all her stuff for her long journey to find the sword. The next day, she left springvale with full stock of food, clothing and her housing materials inside her homemade backpack. Now, she’s heading to Snezhnaya while following a map she obtained in Springvale. She was amazed by Snezhnaya’s beauty- and began to search anywhere for the sword. While searching for the sword, she found a book covered in snow in a snowy path. The book says “The Legend of The Hidden Sword”. Soon, she opened the book and began to read it. The book tells her about The Sword that she was looking for- and she was so happy about it. While reading the book, she noticed something that starts to wipe out her happiness. “The one who took the sword will be endangered by Khaenri’ah.”. As the snowstorm gets thicker, she quickly put the book inside her backpack and run. Soon, she came across a Fatui territory- she was terrified and confused. When she tried to escape, she was apprehended by several Fatui members and was forcely escorted inside the Fatui headquarters. Inside the headquarters, she was locked inside a cell. And soon, one of the harbingers came up to her and greeted her with a creepy-looking smile. She was looking at him with full of fear and tears slowly. Soon, the harbinger requested the other Fatui members to give him her backpack. Later, the other Fatui member forcefully grabbed her backpack from her and kicked her until she gets weaker. Then, the member soon gave the harbinger her backpack and the harbinger soon found the book that she grabbed in the snowy path. Soon, he smiles at her, asking “You really want the sword, don’t you? If you could grab it. Might as well join the Fatui..”. But Calypso shaked her head with an annoyed expression. But the harbinger gave her a death stare, as if he was forcing her to by threatening her. But soon, she ran through the harbinger and other members and escaped with her backpack and the book with full speed. Soon, the Fatui members started chasing her through the snowstorm and slowly losing her. Calypso successfully escaped, arriving in Fontaine. She was covered in fear along with no trust while walking through Fontaine- but soon, a man approached her. She was scared so she defender herself by acting aggressive. But the man soon understood her and offers her free food. Soon, she began to grab some snacks from the man and the man soon earned her trust. The man also offers her Mora if she would like to work at his restaurant- and she accepted the offer. Not only that, the man also gave her free shelter near the workplace, with a beautiful mountain view. Days gone by, she is now working at the man’s restaurant and it has been busy recently- which makes the man very proud of her. Then, the man slowly felt like a father to her- and what makes her happier is that the man agreed to take custody of her. The man treated her as if she is a pile of gold- he safeguarded her carefully and tried his best to keep her happy. Until one day, she told the man that she is on a journey to obtain a sword based on the book she is about to give him. The man was fascinated deeply and seem to be excited for her- the man said, “Not everyone can grab the sword. But the sword is nothing compared to your preciousness to me!”. The next day, she bid farewell to the man and the man was bursting into tears- she then makes him sure that she will come back with the sword one day. Soon, she leaves the city and stumbled across a river. She was tripped while walking near the river and something caught her eyes. The sword! It was exactly the same sword in the book, so she swam across the river to grab it. While she hold the sword to pull it out, she was in a total shock to know that she just pulled out the sword from the ground. And while holding the sword, she was surrounded by monsters from Khaenri’ah who seem to be craving for the sword. But soon, she pointed out the sword to the monsters and they ran away. Then, while running away with the sword- she stumbled across the harbinger who captured her in the previous days. “Ahh, I’ve seen that you pulled out the sword.. didn’t you? Now, you’re joining the Fatui.”. She then pointed out the sword to the harbinger trying to threaten him. But the harbinger just giggled and gives her another death stare. She then hugged the sword tight while sobbing. Suddenly, something really fast grabbed her and came back to Fontaine. It was the man- he found her in the woods and escorted her back into Fontaine. Soon, the man noticed the sword and he tells her that he is very proud of her. But she was looking a little ill- so he decided to check her body a bit. After checking her body for wounds, he spotted a black wound on her right leg. The Man was utterly shocked and headed to his bookshelf at the left corner of his room- the book he grabbed was about a strange parasite that could turn people into mysterious beings. Excalibur was shocked, but then she grabbed the book and soon realized that the sword can stun the parasite growth and both were hugging in relief. Many years later, she grew up becoming a warrior with her swordswoman abilities and also later obtaining her vision- Cryo. She’d always hide The Hidden Sword within her vision and disguises as a normal warrior to prevent herself from getting into much more trouble.
